Southern Locomotives Limited's Web Site
and Sir Keith Park Print Offer

Those of you that have visited Southern Locomotives Ltd. web site will have noticed that I have been busy and redesigned it for them. Hopefully the site is now more interesting and easier to use. The redesign was done free of charge and the day-to-day running of it has now been handed over to their webmaster.

I have also produced a print of their current project, rebuilt Battle of Britain class No. 34053 Sir Keith Park, which is being offered exclusively, at present, to new shareholders. Southern Locomotives are trying to get Sir Keith finished to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, next September, but need more money to make this achievable. The print will become available to everyone sometime next year (2010).

Sir Keith Park, a New Zealander, was the commander of Royal Air Force Sector 11 Squadrons (11 Group), who defended London and the South East of England during the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940.

At present he is the subject of a campaign to get recognition for his contribution to Britain's defence. A memorial statue has now been agreed to and will be temporary installed, for six months, on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square. The unveiling of this will take place on 4th November 2009.

A permanent bronze statue on a plinth will be installed in Waterloo Place, near New Zealand House, next September (2010).

Further information on Sir Keith Park and The Sir Keith Park Memorial Campaign can be found on their web site, www.sirkeithpark.com.
