Streamlined No. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton
I can now announce that the print of LMS streamliner No. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton will be available from Thursday 15th October 2009, with advance orders being taken from 24th September.
Anyone making an advance order between 24th September and 14th October will be entered into the draw for print number 1/250.
LNER A4s Silver Link and Silver Fox
The A4s were originally designed by Nigel Gresley to haul the new streamlined Silver Jubilee service between London and Newcastle – introduced in 1935. They appeared in a special silver livery to match the carriages.
2509 Silver Link is shown in the condition it made the famous press run on 27th September 1935, when it hauled a fully streamlined train of seven coaches and averaged 100 mph for 43 miles and sustained over 100 mph for 25 miles with a peak of 112 mph near Sandy.
2512 Silver Fox is portrayed in 1937 condition after it was fitted with longer front buffers.

Detail taken from the illustration of 2509 Silver Link showing the form of plating used for the smokebox construction. This was unique to the first four and was retained until withdrawal. |
Both illustrations are in the process of being given a final check over.
Silver Link will be available in spring 2010 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its 112 mph run with Silver Fox appearing later in the year.
If you would like to be informed when either of these illustrations becomes available let me know using the A4 Print Form. As before Print Number 1 of each will be subject to a draw.
