Streamlined No. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton
Owing to the upsurge in interest, now that re-streamlined No. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton has gone on display at the National Railway Museum, the illustration of Duchess of Hamilton should be available late September or early October – ready for the build-up to Christmas. Further details will be in the next Newsletter due 1st September
The sharp eyed amongst you may have noticed that the illustration of No. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton has undergone a revamp. As I had to alter it to remove the tender cowling and cab tarpaulin, to make it correct for when it regained its original name, the opportunity was taken to ensure it was up to the same standard as the latest prints.
The Sir Archibald Sinclair and Sir Nigel Gresley Prints
It seems that a rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific is more popular than an A4 that holds the Post-war speed record! I thought that Sir Archibald Sinclair would have more interest, due to its return to steam, but I have been quite surprised at the ratio of 5:1 in favour of 34059.
With the 50th anniversary of Sir Nigel Gresley's 112 mph run taking place in May this year I anticipated that it would have been more popular, but I think it has been overshadowed by Tornado's entry into traffic.
Both illustrations are in the process of being given a final check over.
Silver Link will be available in spring 2010 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its 112 mph run with Silver Fox appearing later in the year.
If you would like to be informed when either of these illustrations becomes available let me know using the A4 Print Form. As before Print Number 1 of each will be subject to a draw.
Web Browsers
With the advent of the new versions of Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4.0, plus Google's Chrome entering the market, I hope that people reading this are changing from Microsoft's Internet Explorer to one of these. These browsers are a lot faster and conform to web standards a lot better than the Microsoft product.
Not having to worry about being compatible with Internet Explorer will make life a lot easier! So if you haven't tried one of these please do so (links above). It will make your web experience faster and more enjoyable.
