Web Site Bandwidth ProblemsApologies to anyone who has tried to access the site over the last few days. Unfortunately it had exceeded it bandwidth allowance and was blocked by the website hoster. This has now - hopefully - been sorted out and shouldn't be a problem from now on. LNER A4 No.4498 Sir Nigel GresleyThis illustration is completed, except for final checking, and can be viewed here. I have shownthe locomotive as running in 1939 after the fitting of the Everbright nameplate plus stainless steel letters and numbers. At the same time the fairings on the tender were cut-back to aid coaling and the chimney had been modified to overcome the corrosion problems caused by the anti-vacuum valve. The print will probably become available in the autumn, as summer is not a good time for sales when everyone is thinking about holidays rather than prints! As with Duchess of Sutherland £5 from every sale will go to the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Preservation Trust. The first signed and numbered print 1/350 will be allocated by draw. To be entered into the draw you will need to have made an advance purchase in the three weeks before the publication date. If you would like to be notified when advance sales are being taken let me know via the A4 Print Form Rebuilt SR Battle of Britain Class No.34059 Sir Archibald SinclairThe illustration of the tender has been completed and the locomotive has been started. There is a mock-up of the print using the initial line drawings here. This illustration will be available at the same time as the locomotive returns to steam on the Bluebell Railway later this year. If you would like to be notified when the print becomes available use the Sir Archibald Sinclair Richard Green 1/5/08 |
