No. 21C155 Fighter Pilot

Advance orders for No. 21C155 Fighter Pilot are now being taken. This is a week earlier than stated previously, but ties in with this newsletter. I shall be sending out email announcements to those that have show an interest in the print in the next few days.

Anyone making an advance order for the print is automatically entered into the draw for the first signed and numbered one – 1/250. Orders need to be made before 27th October.

Fighter Pilot

The print shows No. 21C155 Fighter Pilot in the condition it was named by Group Captain Douglas Bader, DSO, DFC to honour 'the few', at Brighton Station on 9th September 1947.

GWR Castle Class

Work has started on GWR 4-6-0 Castle Class locomotives. The first will probably be No. 5006 Tregenna Castle, renowned for its record breaking Cheltenham Flyer trip.

On 6th June 1932 Tregenna Castle, with driver Ruddock and fireman Thorp of Old Oak Common, hauled the Cheltenham Flyer from the stop at Swindon to Paddington in 56 minuets 47 seconds – 77.3 miles at an average of 81.6 mph. During this run it averaged 90.1 mph over the 29.4 miles between Wantage Road and Twyford.

I shall be putting up an interest form for the Castles, but in the meantime you can request your favourite Castle using the GWR Castle form.
